This improvement stems from recognizing continual issues that the loose collet created. It would get stuck into place, get lost, or simply wear out prematurely.
The previous version simply slid over the focus tube. This new design delivers 50% improved alignment and precision.
The benefit is improved life expectancy and accuracy of the focus tube. This feature is magnified in centrifugal applications where the cutting head must rotate or tilt to cut corners and chamfers in the material.
